Would a spray gun be the best option for painting a stucco ceiling?

I have tried to paint a small section using a roller but it was very difficult. I also need the solution to be economical.

Answer:
I just returned a Wagner Paint Sprayer without using it after I read the instructions. I've done a lot of remodeling and decorating over the years and the manual seemed full of warnings and caveats. Translation: we don't guarantee that it will work and if it does, it may not the second time. That's not worth $100.00 in my book. Remember that you need to buy the adjustable tubing that points the spray nozzle towards the ceiling and the lubricant packets to clean it and keep it working.

Get yourself a big fuzzy roller designed for rough surfaces, a splatter guard that attaches to the roller frame, some goggles and lots of drop cloths and go to work. It's much cheaper. Buy the paint that goes on pink so you can see any missed spots and *lightly* dampen the roller with water so it doesn't soak up a quart of paint when you begin.
