How much does it cost to build a stucco home?

I have a marketing and entrapureship independent study class and i am building homes in florida i need to know how much it cost to build a home and where to get supplies..... (im not very good at spelling lol)

Answer:
you apparently don't know much about Florida building codes, either.

stucco is only the outside facing [covering] of a home here in Florida. The core of the walls consists of reinforced concrete block or other materials engineered and certified to withstand hurricane force winds to the level required by the house's proximity to the coast.

This must be erected on an approved foundation, which has to be poured on properly treated [anti-termite] and compacted soil or other underlayer.

in short, there are lots of safety requirements.

further, the work has to be done by licensed contractors working within their license's specialties. Yes, the property owner can, in theory, contract the job himself -- and doing so triggers a never-ending series of inspections by the county building department of the quality of each stage of the construction. [Note: you stop work after each stage is complete and wait for approval to proceed with the next step upon pain of being ordered to do it over if the inspector can't inspect what he's supposed to because you covered it up.]

supplies come from the usual commercial vendors of such things -- search for "building materials" or subdivisions thereof in the Internet and yellow pages.

cost -- depends on quality, of course. Ordinary lower middle class detached housing runs $100 per square foot and up.

Use the Means Guide [see local library] for better cost estimates.
