We will once more remind you that stucco should be applied by a professional as the quality and age of your exterior wall finish is directly dependant on the right appliance of stucco. In any case, we will give you some stucco applying tips to keep in mind in case you need to do smaller repair work on your walls (maybe you can even advise your professional mason then?)

- The key to applying stucco is cleaning the surface. The best way to do this is use light pressure washing method.

- cover the ground with sand, foil or other material to keep the ground from being damaged by the mortar that may drop off the walls or tools.

- do not mix more mortar than needed as it hardens soon and will go to waste if not applied quickly especially in case of hot weather.

- do not allow the stucco to dry too soon as it may cause it to crack. Keep it damp so that it would dry in about 48 hours.

- keep in mind that the temperature is very important when applying stucco – do not start the process when the temperature outside is less than 40 degrees Fahrenheit or when frost is predicted!
