Thincoat Stucco

Thincoat, or Fiber Reinforced Stucco (FRS) systems, were developed and approved for general use within the last twenty-five years. Thincoat systems were developed primarily for residential applications, but are now used in many other types of construction. These systems are becoming increasingly popular because they are applied as a single basecoat followed by a single finish coat. Thincoat FRS basecoats must be factory formulated by a stucco manufacturer and have current ICBO, SBCCI, BOCA or NES supplemental code approval. The advantages of Thincoat

FRS systems include:

·

Provides water management.

·

Fire resistant.

·

Ideal for retrofit applications.

·

Fibers help reduce cracking.

·

Application is simpler and quicker than three coat systems.

·

May be applied to a wide variety of sheathing and substrates.

·

Allows for many architectural details.
