Three Coat Stucco

Three coat Portland cement stucco systems have been used extensively during this century in a wide variety of applications. These traditional systems set the standard against which all new systems are judged. A three coat stucco system starts with two basecoat layers made of Portland cement, lime, and sand. The third, or finish coat is integrally colored, cement- or acrylic-based finish. The advantages of three coat stucco include:

Provides water management.
Fire resistant.
The three coat system is the only stucco system currently recognized by all code bodies.
High impact resistance.
Ideal for wall areas with high surface deviation.
Can be built up in multiple layers allowing for a monolithic appearance, or to achieve a rounded pueblo style look.
Allows for many architectural details.
